Update

The Observatory can accommodate up to 9 people in two dormitories, you need to bring your own sleeping bags and it is self-catering. As well as Birdwatchers, we welcome people from many areas of interest including Moths, Butterflies, Bugs and Beetles or just a general interest in Nature and the local environment. Please forward any Dungeness recording area records to the Warden.

30th Oct

A 3.5hr seawatch this morning was fairly slow in terms of numbers but some notable birds were seen including four Eider, nine Little Gulls, three Mediterranean Gulls, 15 Sandwich Terns, a Great Skua and two Arctic Skuas. The Sabine's Gull was seen again in the afternoon. Three Merlins, a Brambling, 1,500 Goldfinches and 50 Siskins also flew over.

A Porpoise and a Grey Seal were feeding offshore.
