At Dungeness Bird Observatory we take security of your data very seriously. The data we hold is kept securely on a password protected device and we never pass on any information to a third party. For more information please read our Data Policy available here.

Corona Virus Update

We are planning on opening the Observatory to visitors with a degree of caution, and the hides to 'Friends of DBOT' from May 17th., The relevant conditions state that the 'Rue of 6' and face coverings are also mandatory in the hides.

Please forward any Dungeness recording area records to the Warden.

A decent variety of birds passed through offshore with two Velvet Scoters, four Black-throated Divers, three Mediterranean Gulls, nine Sandwich Terns and four Great Skuas of note. Three Merlins were also seen. Very quiet on the land with just four Chiffchaffs and six Firecrests of note.

A Porpoise and two Grey Seals were seen offshore.
