14th Nov

A miserable day with almost continual rain and strong winds. Five hours of seawatching produced 45 Common Scoters, five Red-breasted Mergansers, 258 Kittiwakes, 25 Mediterranean Gulls, five Little Gulls, an Arctic Skua and over 5,000 auks. Very quiet on the land with just eight Chiffchaffs, two Dartford Warblers, eight Firecrests, 15 Blackbirds and a Brambling of note.

Two Porpoises and two Grey Seals were feeding offshore.

The highlights from the moth trap were singles of Palpita vitrealis, the Gem and Radford's Flame Shoulder.
