Ongoing Excavation Works.
Please be aware that there are extensive ongoing excavation works around the Observatory until after Christmas. Please be very careful driving over the moat and note that parking may be difficult. We are, however, open for business and welcome anyone interested in winter birding around Dungeness.
The Iceland Gull was seen at the Patch this morning and then gave very good views during the afternoon at the fishing boats. A Glaucous Gull also flew west over the Long Pits and four Mediterranean Gulls were seen offshore.
Two Porpoises were feeding offshore and a Brown Hare was also seen..
