At Dungeness Bird Observatory we take security of your data very seriously. The data we hold is kept securely on a password protected device and we never pass on any information to a third party. For more information please read our Data Policy available here.

Corona Virus Update

We are very pleased to be accepting booking at the Observatory. In order to keep staff and visitors as safe as possible, we will be requesting that you take a Lateral Flow Test (provided) before you first come in. The hides will be open for 'Friends of DBOT'. However, we would request that you continue to observe safe practises and sanitiser and spray will continue to be provided to clean down the handles and closures in the hide after you have used it.

Please forward any Dungeness recording area records to the Warden.

10th Mar

A day of mixed weather but producing some good gulls. At least two first year Glaucous Gulls were present today, the regular bird was seen at the Patch and a darker bird at the fishing boats. Two Caspian Gulls, an adult and a 2nd winter along with a 3rd winter Yellow-legged Gull were also at the fishing boats. Six Sandwich Terns and 367 Brent Geese were also noted.

A Black Redstart was present opposite the Lifeboat Station and a single Chiffchaff was singing in a private garden at the point.

Seven Porpoise were also seen offshore.
