A visit to the feeding station this morning to refill was followed by a pleasant half hour watching the birds flitting round the feeders. They were mostly Great and Blue Tits but a Robin and a few Chaffinches joined in, mainly on the sprinkles. The maximum number on the large peanut feeder was 14 at any one time. The Observatory can accommodate up to 9 people in two dormitories, you need to bring your own sleeping bags and it is self-catering. As well as Birdwatchers, we welcome people from many areas of interest including Moths, Butterflies, Bugs and Beetles or just a general interest in Nature and the local environment.
