The wet and very windy weather continues. There was a decent movement of birds offshore this morning with 849 Brent Geese, five Gadwall, seven Pintails, two Mediterranean Gulls and six Great Skuas of note but limited observations on the land to a Firecrest and a Chiffchaff.
One Porpoise was seen offshore.

Ongoing Excavation Works.
Please be aware that there are extensive ongoing excavation works around the Observatory until after Christmas. Please be very careful driving over the moat and note that parking may be difficult. We are, however, open for business and welcome anyone interested in winter birding around Dungeness.
