1st Nine Mediterranean Gulls, a Little Gull and a juvenile Yellow-legged Gull were seen at the Patch and 26 Sand Martins passed through. A Great Spotted Woodpecker was seen in the area.
2nd Six Mediterranean Gulls and a Little Gull were seen at the Patch and 390 Swifts and 116 Sand Martins flew through.
3rd A Hobby was seen.
4th Two Mediterranean Gulls and two Yellow-legged Gulls (one juvenile) were on the beach. A Great Spotted Woodpecker was trapped in the moat and a Yellow Wagtail flew over.
5th An adult Roseate Tern was seen at the Patch. Three Mediterranean Gulls and two Yellow-legged Gulls were also seen during the day. A few Swifts and Sand Martins also passed through and a Great Spotted Woodpecker was seen at the Long Pits.
6th An increasingly windy day meant that most of the observations were made offshore where a Balearic Shearwater, four Manx Shearwaters, two Whimbrel, a Pomarine Skua and an Arctic Skua were seen. A second-summer Yellow-legged Gull was roosting on the point again and at least 1500 Swifts and a few Sand Martins flew out to the south.
7th Another very windy day with frequent showers in the morning failed to produce a great deal on the sea. Just five Manx Shearwaters flew west in nearly five hours of watching whilst the now-regular second-summer Yellow-legged Gull and also two adult Mediterranean Gulls were seen on the beach at the fishing boats.

Swifts continue to move around in the poor weather with at least 500 through the area along with 50 Sand Martins.

8th The very strong winds continue and hamper any observations except on the sea where seven hours of watching produced 20 Manx Shearwaters, 21 Fulmars, 525 Gannets, single Arctic and Great Skuas, six Whimbrel, four Mediterranean Gulls, 50 Kittiwakes, 83 Sandwich Terns and 195 Common Terns flying west.
9th Rain for most of the day and still with a strong wind at times meant more seawatching. The highlight was a flurry of Storm Petrels heading west during the morning with at least three individuals and perhaps as many as six birds being seen. Other birds were generally scarce although seven hours of observations eventually produced five Manx Shearwaters, a Shag, 544 Gannets, 304 Common Scoters, two Whimbrels and 28 Kittiwakes flying west.

Two juvenile Yellow-legged Gulls were also seen at the fishing boats along with the regular second-summer bird.

10th A Manx Shearwater and two Whimbrel flew west this evening and a few Sand Martins flew south on an otherwise very quiet day.
11th There were seven Mediterranean Gulls and three Yellow-legged Gulls feeding and roosting at the fishing boats and large numbers of Gannets offshore. A Common Sandpiper was also arrived on the beach.

Autumn really seems to be here on the land now with at least 500 Sand Martins passing though along with a few Swifts and a Yellow Wagtail.

12th Gannets continued to move west throughout the day with a total of 680 being seen and single Balearic and Manx Shearwaters were also seen in the evening. A party of three adult Roseate Terns were feeding off the fishing boats for a short time during the morning. The second-summer Yellow-legged Gull was still on the beach along with a Sanderling and two Dunlin.

Swifts and Sand Martins continue to pass through in good numbers.

13th An Arctic Skua and an adult Little Gull flew east and a Great Skua flew west. Three Yellow-legged Gulls and a Mediterranean Gull were feeding at the fishing boats.

Overhead, 800 Swifts, 150 Sand Martins and four Yellow Wagtails flew through.

14th Very quiet. Two Yellow-legged Gulls were seen at the fishing boats whilst on the land, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, 170 Sand Martins and ten Yellow Wagtails were of note.
15th The second-summer Yellow-legged Gull and an adult Mediterranean Gull were seen at the fishing boats and 900 Sand Martins passed through.
16th A Sedge Warbler was caught in the moat and over 1200 Sand Martins passed through.

There were two adult Mediterranean Gulls and the second-summer Yellow-legged Gull at the fishing boats again.

17th Two Arctic Skuas were hunting off the fishing boats during the morning where a second-summer Mediterranean Gull and the second-summer Yellow-legged Gull were also seen. A Manx Shearwater and a Little Gull flew east in the evening.

Very quiet on the land with just 120 Swifts and four Yellow Wagtails of note.

18th Two Manx Shearwaters flew west in the evening and large numbers of Gannets were feeding offshore and moving west throughout the day. A second-summer Mediterranean Gull and three Yellow-legged Gulls were also present.

The first Willow Warbler of the autumn was seen along with two Sedge Warblers and 870 Swifts and two Yellow Wagtails flew over.

19th A Balearic Shearwater and a Manx Shearwater flew west in the morning and two Great Skuas flew west and an Arctic Skua flew east in the afternoon. Two Yellow-legged Gulls were on the beach.

Overhead passage included 1000 Swifts and 55 Sand Martins.

Also of note, a Pectoral Sandpiper was seen at the ARC Pit in the evening.

20th A Balearic Shearwater flew east during the morning and an Arctic Skua was lingering off the fishing boats in the evening. The second-summer Yellow-legged Gull was also at the fishing boats again.

Overhead passage included 500 Swifts and 50 Sand Martins and a Willow Warbler was seen on the point.

The Pectoral Sandpiper was still at the ARC Pit in the morning (at least).

21st A very small arrival of migrants on the land with four Yellow Wagtails, a Sedge Warbler, three Willow Warblers and a Crossbill whilst Swifts and Sand Martins passed through all day with at least 3000 and 125 respectively.

A small movement of seabirds in the evening included an Arctic Skua, 55 Kittiwakes and six Arctic Terns and two Yellow-legged Gulls were also feeding on the beach.

22nd A party of four Crossbills flew over the area and grounded migrants included a Sedge Warbler and three Willow Warblers whilst a Greenshank, 3000 Sand Martins and three Yellow Wagtail were of note overhead or passing through.

The second-summer Yellow-legged Gull was at the Point again and an adult Arctic Skua was seen offshore.

23rd The highlight of the day was a party of four Ravens which circled over the area for a few minutes in the morning.

A Great Spotted Woodpecker and six Willow Warblers were seen in the bushes whilst a Marsh Harrier and a Hobby and 1300 Sand Martin flew over.

Two Arctic Skuas and a juvenile Mediterranean Gull were seen offshore.

24th Two Crossbills flew over the Observatory along with a Hobby, 700 Sand Martins and nine Yellow Wagtails and a Nightingale was seen at the Long Pits.

There were 15 Sanderling on the beach and an adult Mediterranean Gull, two juvenile Yellow-legged Gulls and a first-summer Arctic Tern were all feeding offshore.

25th Several hours seawatching during the day produced a Sooty Shearwater and two Manx Shearwaters flying east and two Arctic Skuas were feeding offshore. Two Mediterranean Gulls were feeding along the tideline and there were three Yellow-legged Gulls on the beach at the fishing boats.

Three Crossbills flew over the Observatory and at least three Marsh Harriers and three Peregrine Falcons were seen. Other migrants included 11 Yellow Wagtails whilst the handful of grounded migrants included a Spotted Flycatcher at the Long Pits.

26th A Balearic Shearwater, a Great Skua and an adult Little Gull were the highlights of an otherwise quiet day.
27th Most of the days interest was offshore where at least 10 Balearic Shearwaters showed well throughout the day, along with about ten Arctic and a Pomarine Skua, large numbers of Gannets, three Mediterranean Gulls, three Yellow-legged Gulls, two adult Roseate Terns, three Arctic Terns and a couple of Black Terns.

Very little of interest on the land although coverage was fairly limited. A few Swallows and 220 Sand Martins went south.

28th The sea again provided most of the interest, especially around the early evening high-tide, when two Balearic Shearwaters gave excellent views, along with two Pomarine Skuas, ten Arctic Skuas, a Great Skua, two Mediterranean Gulls and two adult Roseate Terns.

It was quiet on the land again but a party of seven Crossbills flew over and three Willow Warblers were seen.

29th  The sea was again the best place to be with seven Balearic Shearwaters during the day and giving excellent views, along with three Arctic Skuas, a Great Skua, an adult Roseate Tern and six Black Terns.

It was quiet on the land again but two Hobbies, a Cuckoo and seven Willow Warblers were seen.

30th The sea continues to repay observations with four Balearic Shearwaters west during the afternoon and 12 Arctic Skuas and a Great Skua also in the area. There was also a juvenile Mediterranean Gull and the second-summer Yellow-legged Gull feeding along the tideline at the fishing boats.

Very quiet on the land although a Marsh Harrier, a Hobby, 150 Swifts and 20 House Martins flew over. There were just two Willow Warblers in the area.

31st Little change with the sea providing nearly all the interest. At least five Balearic Shearwaters were feeding offshore for most of the day and two Pomarine Skuas flew east. Ten Arctic Skuas were also seen and a juvenile Little Gull, two juvenile Arctic Terns and three Black Terns were amongst the throng of birds feeding along the tide edge. Other gulls included a second-summer and a juvenile Mediterranean Gull, a juvenile Yellow-legged Gull and 200 Kittiwakes.
