| Access to the Observatory is via Dungeness Road, going past two Lighthouses, towards the Power stations and then turning north along a narrow road to the Observatory. |

For anyone wishing to visit the Observatory by public transport there are regular train services to Folkestone, Hythe and Rye from London. From these, the No.11 and 12 bus runs between Rye and Folkestone passing through Lydd on Sea where you should alight near the Pilot Inn. It is then a short walk to the Observatory. |
